We serve a broad base of business, personal and non profit clientele; meeting their needs in the accounting, financial and tax arenas. The following is a more detailed list of our services.
Accounting - We have a small business division which offers a full compliment of services specializing in providing clients with guidance and assistance in maintaining their general ledger as well as meeting filing requirements. In most cases this allows the client to do what they do best --- growing their business.
Reviewed & Compiled Financial Statements - Many businesses are required to provide financial statements to their bank or other financial lenders. Also, businesses, individuals and other organizations may desire an independently prepared financial statement to see the current results of their labors. We assist in meeting these requirements or needs.
Multi-State Tax Preparation - The motto we have adopted is "Wherever you are, we are there." This is particularly true in our tax preparation. Whether you or your business is located in the Bay area, California, or any of the other 49 states, we have the technical capabilities to meet your tax and accounting needs.
Federal & State Tax Representation - Occasionally, the IRS or state taxing authorities will send notices or inform clients of audits. With our background and experience in response to the taxing authorities and our knowledge of the tax laws, we assist our clients in resolving these matters.
Planning & Consulting - Although our services cover your ongoing compliance needs (as noted above), we also provide you with experienced insight through the planning and consulting part of our practice. The following is a list of those areas that we might be able to assist you with:

Estate & Trust Planning and Administration - Over a number of years, we have developed a level of expertise in the area of estate planning and administration. Jack Welkley has completed the California CPA Society's certificate program on estate planning and is a past president of the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council. Each year, a significant portion of his educational requirements are devoted to estate procedures and planning courses to stay current in this area. Jack heads up the firms team in providing clients with the professional guidance they need in establishing their estate plans and also administration of their estates and trusts.
About Us
Jack L. Welkley
Jack spent the early
years of his career in the tax departments of three "Big 8" accounting
firms (now the "Big 4"). He was certified originally in New York State
and later in California. After moving to California, he earned a
Masters in Taxation degree from Golden Gate University. During the last
twenty plus years, Jack has served his clients in specialty areas of
estate, retirement and stock option planning. He received his Bachelor
of Science degree in Accounting from Utica College of Syracuse
University, was named one of the top tax practitioners in the country by Money magazine in 1987, has completed the California Society of CPA's
Estate Planning Certificate Program and is a Past President of the Santa
Clara County Estate Planning Council (a group of over 150 estate
planning professionals, consisting of attorneys, CPA's, CLU's and trust
officers).
B. J. Tucker
B.J. received her
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from San Jose State University
after moving to California from Denver, Iowa over thirty years ago. Her
services cover a broad range of business entities. She specializes in
business accounting, management consulting, financial systems design,
financial statement preparation, tax preparation and planning for
business and personal clients. In addition, she has provided innovative
financial planning involving stock options, retirement alternatives and
estates. B.J. has also served on the boards of various civic and
non-profit organizations. She is most active in Soroptimist
International of Los Gatos-Saratoga, a women's service organization that
promotes human rights and the status of women and children throughout
the world. B.J. lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains with her husband,
daughter, son, cat, two dogs and green Amazon parrot. What keeps B.J.
ticking is her love of the theater, reading, music and enthusiastic
driving.
Torie Charvez
Torie has 20 years experience
in tax and accounting. She is an Enrolled Agent with the IRS
As
a member of the California Society of Enrolled Agents, she is currently
serving a 2 year term on the Mission Chapter's Board of Directors.
Torie teaches a variety of tax classes and
is chairman of the mini seminar committee for the Mission Chapter.
Torie is currently
working on her Masters in Taxation at
Golden Gate
University
in
San Francisco.
Her next challenge will be passing the CPA
exam.
Torie began her accounting career as an Accounts
Receivable Clerk working her way up to the Accounting Manager position
at a wholesale distribution company.
She found her true passion when she worked
part time for several tax seasons at H&R Block. Deciding that she wanted
to pursue taxation full time, she found a position in the public
accounting arena. The combination of private and public accounting gives
her a unique perspective that compliments our small business division
client needs.
